Easter 09

Let's start at the very beginning.  A very good place to start...

I knew in order for all of us to be ready ON TIME for church on Sunday morning, I had to plan ahead.  This involved laying out 2 sweater vests, 10 shoes, 4 collared shirts, 4 pairs of khaki pants, 8 socks, 1 backup pair of pants and shoes,and a partridge in a pear tree. Whoops!  Wrong Holiday!

We had some time before heading out the door for a few or 20 group pictures.  And yes, their 4 little mouths just might contain chocolate egg. Bribes are a sometimes a necessary means for the purpose of capturing a family memory, wouldn't you agree?

After church and a short nap, we headed to Gramma and Grampas (Brad's parents).  We pulled up to a yard full of eggs that were waiting to be captured.

Henry paired up with daddy to hunt for eggs.

The boys also enjoyed playing as Clark calls it, "I Get You", with family.

Seriously....

I think Easter becomes more significant to me each year, as I reflect even greater upon the sacrifice of my Savior, the miracle of His resurrection, and the promise of eternal life.  Through Him we have living hope!

1 Peter 1:3: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”

Much like the side items of Christmas (stockings, Santa, trees, etc.), the pastel clothing, the plastic eggs, the family gatherings, the beloved Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs, bring us much joy. However, it bears no resemblance to the pivotal celebration of an empty tomb.  My prayer is that each of you reading may know The Power of the Cross.

"This, the power of the cross:
Christ became sin for us;
Took the blame, bore the wrath—
We stand forgiven at the cross."
